About Us

Chad Matchette: Chad is thrilled to be one of the founding members of Align Entertainment. “The opportunity to work on such an exciting project with this group of people is amazing.” Chad has been involved in the Vancouver theatre scene as a actor, director, producer, writer and teacher for over 30 years. Favorite past directing credits include: Anne of Green Gables (CTC Nomination – Best Director), A Chorus Line, Jesus Christ Superstar, Nunsense, The Music Man, and Bye, Bye, Birdie (TUTS). Favorite past acting credits include: Ruben in Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Daddy Warbucks in Annie (Ovation Nomination – Best Actor), Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof (CTC Award Winner– Best Actor, Ovation Nomination – Best Actor), Ray in Lonestar (CTC Nomination – Best Supporting Actor), and Lenny in Of Mice and Men(CTC Award Winner – Best Actor). Chad has also produced the last four critically acclaimed shows for Royal City Musical Theatre in New Westminster, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Will Rogers Follies, Hello Dolly, and OKLAHOMA. As the Owner and Artistic Director of the Lindbjerg Academy of Performing Arts he is living another lifelong dream of not only working in the arts, but also teaching and helping encourage young people to express themselves and find their voice through musical theatre and dance.


Patti Volk: Patti is very proud and excited to be part of the foundation of Align Entertainment. Having spent 9 years with Royal City Musical Theatre in various capacities, working backstage as well as on the Board of Directors, has prepared her to take on a new challenge. Additionally as the Stage Manager and Assistant to the Directors of James Productions {Christmas Pops} for 6 years Patti is confident this experience will be a valuable asset to this new adventure. Having worked with the other founding members of Align Entertainment through both these companies makes this group a great fit. By day, Patti is the Manager for Clinical Staffing at Vancouver General Hospital.



Melissa Assalone: Melissa is thrilled to be a part of Align Entertainment’s first adventure.  Melissa pursued her passion for theatre through her post secondary years, graduating from both Capilano and SFU’s theatre programs.
She now holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre.  Select performance credits include: Grease (TUTS), Into the Woods, The Seagull (Exit 22), Will Rogers Follies, Oklahoma (RCMT), Christmas Pops (James Productions) Titanic: The Musical (Applause) and Adventures in Art (Matchbox Ent). Melissa has choreographed for various groups across the lower mainland including James Productions, Footlight Theatre and the Lindbjerg Academy.



Brent Hughes: Brent is honoured to be a part of the inception of Align Entertainment. Currently a Music Educator at Dr. Charles Best Secondary School in Coquitlam, Brent’s performance ensembles have consistently won awards at local and international festivals. Brent has been active in musical theatre at his school, where he teaches musical theatre and directs shows. He has also been a pit musician (trumpet) for numerous musical theatre companies in the lower mainland, most notably Royal City Musical Theatre (RCMT) and Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS). Brent has also been the assistant director of James Productions “Christmas Pops” for the last four seasons.
